Jesus
launched his public ministry as with his
baptism by St. John the Baptist. Jesus
was named the Beloved Son of God at his
baptism. On the Feast of the Baptism of
the Lord as the Church we celebrate and
recommit to follow in the footsteps of
Jesus, God’s Beloved Son. Initiated
through our baptism, we too are the Beloved
of God, commissioned to proclaim Good
News with our lives.
National Vocations
Awareness Week (January 9 – 14,
2012) begins with the Feast of
the Baptism of the Lord. From the universal
call to holiness at Baptism, each one
of us receives a special vocational calling
from God.
The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese
of Chicago is materials free of charge
from Serra U.S.A. that were created by
the former National Coalition of Church
Vocations (NCCV). These materials allow
Parishes and Schools of the Archdiocese
to download the Lesson Plans and Parish
Kits below.
