Discernment Prayers:

Prayer of Surrender

Take, O Lord, and receive my entire liberty, my memory, my understanding and my whole will.
All that I am and all that I possess You have given me:
I surrender it all to You to be disposed of according to Your will.
Give me only Your love and Your grace;
with these I will be rich enough, and will desire nothing more.
(St. Ignatius Loyola)

Prayer for Generosity

Teach us, Good Lord,
To serve you as you deserve.
To give and not count the cost.
To fight and not heed the wounds.
To toil and not to seek for rest.
To labor and not to ask for any reward.
Except that of knowing that we do Your Will.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
(St. Ignatius Loyola)

Trinitarian Prayer

God, our Father, I offer You my day.
I offer You my prayers, thoughts, words, actions,
and sufferings in union with Your Son Jesus Christ,
Who continues to offer Himself in the Eucharist
for the salvation of the world. May the Holy Spirit,
Who guided Jesus, be my guide and my strength today
so that I may witness to Your love. With Mary,
the mother of our Lord and of the Church,
I pray especially for this month's intentions
as proposed by the Holy Father.
(Apostleship of Prayer)

Back to Discerning the Call

Whoever opens his heart to Christ will not only understand the mystery of his own existence, but also that of his own vocation; he will bear the abundant fruit of grace.
